COMMONLY ASKED
1
What are the height and weight limits for paragliding?
Our wings are designed and certified to accommodate a wide weight range. As long as you weigh between 15 kg and 135 kg, you can safely fly within allowable limits. There are no minimum or maximum height requirements. We provide various harness sizes suitable for passengers of different body types.
2
Do I need to be physically fit to paraglide?
You only need enough physical strength to sprint hard for about 3 seconds during takeoff. After that, the entire flight consists of comfortably sitting in a harness in front of the pilot, enjoying spectacular views. At no point during the flight will you need to jump off a cliff or experience freefall like in a typical parachuting jump. The sensation throughout the flight is similar to sitting comfortably in an airplane seat.
3
Is paragliding dangerous?
Contrary to common misconceptions, statistics show that the likelihood of an incident occurring during paragliding is LOWER than that of traveling by car on the road.
All commercial paragliding wings are designed and rigorously tested with a special self-recovery feature. All commercial paragliding operators require strict licensing and permits from the military, local authorities, and the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
4
I’m afraid of heights. Can I still fly?
Many people confuse fear of “falling” with fear of heights. If you have flown thousands of meters in a plane and looked out the window without fear, you likely do not fear heights. Unlike parachute jumps, you do not jump into a void or free-fall; you simply sit comfortably in the harness and glide through the air.
If you are reading this, it’s likely that paragliding excites you. Please share any hidden concerns so we can tailor the flight experience to your comfort level. For most people, any anxiety naturally dissipates the moment they take off.
5
Can children paraglide?
FlySapa offers specially designed harnesses for children. Any child weighing 15 kg or more can participate.
6
Is paragliding affected by weather?
Yes, safety is our top priority. Flights are only conducted in favorable weather conditions with stable winds and clear visibility. Flights may be postponed or canceled due to rain, strong winds, or fog. We have a lot of traditional games on Take-off so you can have fun should there be some “parawaiting”.
